Seriously Facebook? How About Some Ad Variety…
I mean… I know my status shows as single, but is that all I am to you? I rarely see ads for anything other than dating sites offering up attractive girls just waiting to have a meaningful relationship with me. Plus, my Religious Views are shown as “Pastafarian” … so where are the ads to help me meet single and attractive followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
I know these sites are paying top dollar to have their ads show on my page as I’m sure I fit perfectly within their demo, but come on… I spend an inordinate amount of time on Facebook for myself and for work so I’d like to see some variety in my ad servings, especially when I’m seeing multiple ads for the same exact site. Otherwise, I can see AdBlock playing a significant role in my web browsing future.
This started out as a tongue-in-cheekish type post, but I got genuinely annoyed at some point while typing. Not sure what happened there.
