Much to my father's chagrin I'm sure, I never really got into the whole car racing thing. Fortunately, my youngest brother did, thus fulfilling the Simmons' family gear head legacy. So, I like to come out and support and spend two hours pretending like I know what I'm talking about. Check out a very brief video of him on the track in the Turner Field parking lot this morning...

So, the line-up for Coachella has been released and while some of the bands/acts in the biggest type face are drawing a lot of the attention, I find myself concentrating more on the smaller type and geeking out quite a bit. So, on a day-by-day basis, here's who I would actually want to see and maybe this year, I can make that happen.
Day 1: The Specials, Echo and the Bunnymen, Yeasayer, Dillinger Escape Plan, Ra Ra Riot, White Rabbits, Jets Overhead. Day 2: Coheed and Cambria, Mew, Tokyo Police Club, Old Crow Medicine Show, Frightened Rabbit (!!!), The Temper Trap, Portugal the Man. Day 3: Pavement (ok, big font type band, but who cares), Spoon, De La Soul, Sunny Day Real Estate (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Yo La Tengo. There's probably more bands that I should know about and would like to see and maybe I'll discover them in person, but at $269 per person for a 3-day pass plus camping (right, have we met?)... that remains to be seen.
Ride bike to brunch, eat brunch, ride bike home. Sounds simple and boring. Now, add this view. Yeh, exactly.

Just got 686 Smarty Command Jacket courtesy of FedEx and BuySnow.com. So stoked to go ride but still have to wait six weeks. The 686 Smarty Original Cargo Pants are still on their way. Btw, it is ridiculously expensive to lose/give away/never get back all of the snowboard outerwear that you have collected over the last few years. Ugh.
